Overview
Flights is a personal flight log created by Eric Walker. This policy describes the app's current handling of information. The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or a developer-operated account or backend service.
Information you enter
You may enter flight dates, airlines, flight numbers, airport names, airport codes and coordinates, flight time, aircraft registration and type, seat, notes, and trip names, dates, notes, colors, and ordering. The app also derives statistics such as route distance, totals, and frequently used airlines or airports from those records.
On-device storage and widgets
Flights stores its records using Apple's SwiftData framework. The app also stores a small preference and an aggregate statistics snapshot in an on-device app-group container so its widgets can display flight, airport, airline, distance, and flight-time totals.
iCloud and CloudKit
The SwiftData store is configured to use Apple's CloudKit service automatically. When available for your Apple/iCloud environment, flight and trip records may be transmitted to, stored by, and synchronized through Apple so they can remain available within that environment. CloudKit availability and processing are controlled by Apple and your device and iCloud settings. Apple's handling of this information is governed by Apple's applicable terms and privacy policies.
Apple Maps airport search
When you search for an airport, the search text is submitted through Apple's MapKit search service, which returns airport place information and coordinates. Flights does not request access to your device's current location. Apple's processing of map searches is governed by Apple's applicable terms and privacy policies.
Exports and sharing
You can create JSON backups, CSV exports, and PNG summary cards. These are disclosed only to the location, application, or person you choose through Apple's file and sharing interfaces. Once exported or shared, copies are controlled by the selected destination and may remain there even if you delete the corresponding in-app record.
Non-Apple third parties
The current app contains no third-party analytics, advertising SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or non-Apple server integration. Eric Walker does not operate a server that collects or retains your flight records. A recipient or service you deliberately choose for an export or share may handle that copy under its own terms.
Retention and deletion
Records remain in the app's SwiftData and CloudKit environment until you delete them, remove the app's data, or manage the relevant iCloud data, subject to Apple's synchronization, backup, and retention behavior. Deletion may synchronize across devices. Exported copies must be deleted separately from their chosen destinations.
Children
Flights is a general-purpose record-keeping tool and is not designed to solicit personal information from children.
Changes
If the app's information practices change, this policy may be updated with a new date. Review the current policy when installing an update.
