BalanceBuddy Terms and Conditions

By using BalanceBuddy, you agree to use the app responsibly and in accordance with these terms and Apple's applicable terms.

What BalanceBuddy provides

BalanceBuddy provides tools to manually record accounts and transactions, create budgets, review recurring activity and financial summaries, import and export files, and synchronize app data through private iCloud storage. The app does not connect directly to financial institutions, execute transactions, move money, or provide professional financial, tax, investment, accounting, or legal advice.

Your records and decisions

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter or import and for reviewing calculations, categories, duplicate suggestions, recurring charge suggestions, cash outlook, safe-to-spend estimates, and other summaries before relying on them. Financial results depend on the completeness and timing of your records.

Subscriptions

BalanceBuddy Pro is offered through monthly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions. A 14-day introductory trial may be available when Apple determines eligibility. Prices, taxes, billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, offer eligibility, and Family Sharing are handled by Apple and shown before purchase. Unless canceled through Apple at least as required by the App Store, a subscription renews automatically. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings.

An active subscription provides editing access. Without one, the app may operate in read-only mode while keeping access to existing records, exports, backups, and deletion controls. Features and availability are subject to the version installed and Apple's services.

iCloud and device availability

Synchronization depends on the device, network, Apple Account, iCloud settings, storage availability, and Apple services. Recent changes may take time to appear. Keep a current backup before major edits, restores, or deletions.

Imports, exports, and backups

You choose the files you import and the destinations where you save or share CSV exports and JSON backups. These files may contain sensitive financial information and are not encrypted by BalanceBuddy. You are responsible for choosing trusted destinations and protecting copies. A selected recipient or service may retain and process a copy under its own practices.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access to Apple services or other people's information, or use it in violation of applicable law or another person's rights.

Ownership

BalanceBuddy, its interface, and its original software are owned by Eric Walker, subject to rights in Apple frameworks and other materials belonging to their respective owners. These terms do not transfer ownership of the app. You retain responsibility for and any rights you have in the records you enter.

Disclaimer and limitation

The app is provided as available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Eric Walker disclaims implied warranties and is not responsible for decisions made from incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate records; service interruptions; loss caused by device, iCloud, or destination availability; or handling of an exported copy by a recipient you selected. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and termination

The app or these terms may change as features and requirements change. You may stop using the app at any time and manage the subscription through Apple. Access may be limited when necessary to protect the app or comply with applicable requirements.

Applicable rules

Applicable law and mandatory consumer protections remain in effect. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement may also apply where provided through the App Store.
