ExpenseKit Terms and Conditions
Updated October 9, 2026
These draft terms describe use of ExpenseKit, provided by Eric Walker. They are provided for developer review and are not legal advice. Please review them before using the app.
Using ExpenseKit
Use ExpenseKit to organize receipt records, review recognized text, calculate totals of saved amounts, and create PDF reports and backup files. Use the app lawfully and only with documents you are entitled to use or share. You retain responsibility for the records you add and the destinations you choose.
Check your receipt details and reports
Text recognition can misread a merchant, date, or amount. Review and correct suggestions before saving. Totals depend on saved amounts; the app does not convert currencies. Check for missing and duplicate entries, and inspect PDF previews for omitted or truncated details and image readability. ExpenseKit does not verify reimbursement eligibility, tax treatment, or compliance with an employer’s requirements.
Records and backups
App records are stored on your device; ExpenseKit does not implement CloudKit synchronization. Keep and check a backup before deleting the app, replacing your device, or removing important records. Backup restoration adds missing identifiers and skips existing ones rather than overwriting them. Device backups, file-provider access, and Apple services operate according to their own settings and practices. Availability and recovery cannot be guaranteed.
Reports, backups, and chosen recipients
PDF reports may include collection dates, counts, totals, selected receipt details, and full receipt images or rendered pages from attached PDFs. Hiding a report field does not remove that information from a receipt image. Backup files contain collection and receipt details, identifiers, dates, amounts, categories, notes, images, original PDFs, and combined-charge group information. These exported files are not encrypted by ExpenseKit. Exporting or sharing is your choice. You select where the file goes through the Apple share sheet, including Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, email, or another available app or service. A non-Apple recipient you choose may access, store, or retain the copy under its own practices. Deleting the record in ExpenseKit does not delete an exported copy, and ExpenseKit cannot revoke or remotely delete a shared file.
App and platform availability
Scanning depends on supported camera hardware and permission. Importing or sharing depends on the selected file, destination, provider, and Apple platform features. No uninterrupted operation or error-free text recognition or report generation is promised. No account or subscription is implemented in the examined app; these terms make no claim about the App Store purchase price.
Responsibility and limitations
ExpenseKit is a receipt organization tool, not financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice. You are responsible for checking entries, keeping appropriate records, and choosing how to use and share reports. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Eric Walker disclaims warranties of uninterrupted operation and fitness for a particular expense-reporting purpose, and responsibility for losses resulting from unverified entries, lost records, or your chosen sharing destinations. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Privacy
The privacy policy describes local storage, on-device processing, Apple services, user-directed exports, and optional support correspondence. Eric Walker does not sell user information.
Support and contact
Contacting support is optional. Eric Walker receives the information you choose to send, and your email service may process the correspondence. ExpenseKit does not automatically send your financial records to support. Please avoid sending sensitive receipts or account details unless necessary, and redact them where possible. Eric Walker will respond as soon as possible; no fixed response time is promised.
Revisions
The updated date identifies this draft. Review the terms associated with the version you use. These terms do not select a legal jurisdiction or limit non-waivable consumer rights.
